Newborn Siberian Husky puppies were taken from a Virginia grooming business. A suspect was arrested and pups were recovered, but two-week-olds still need their mother every few hours.
Six two-week-old Siberian Husky puppies were stolen from a pet grooming business in Hampton, Virginia, after someone broke in through a window overnight. At that age the pups are entirely dependent on their mother for feedings every few hours, which turned a burglary into a race against time.
A suspect was arrested on charges including breaking and entering and animal larceny, and several of the puppies were returned over the following days — some after being sold on the street for as little as fifty dollars. Experts note that huskies and other puppies should stay with their mothers for at least eight weeks, and sometimes as long as twelve, after birth.
