Before you ever fill out an application, spend an afternoon with the dogs. Our Husky Socials are open, relaxed, and built for questions.
Our recurring gathering is the Husky Social, held at Moncus Park in Lafayette, Louisiana. It runs on Saturdays, 11 a.m.–4 p.m., and it is the easiest way to meet Siberian Huskies in person — no appointment, no pressure, just people and dogs sharing the park.
A Husky Social is how families get to know the breed before they commit. You can watch huskies run and play, see how they move and how much they talk, and ask our volunteers the honest questions — about shedding, exercise, fencing, prey drive, and what daily life with a husky really looks like. Meeting the breed face to face tells you far more than any photo or profile ever could.
Please register before you play. All pups must be registered with Moncus Park officials before joining the group. It keeps every dog safe and keeps us welcome at the park, so plan to check in when you arrive.
Specific Husky Social dates are announced on our social channels, so follow along on Facebook and Instagram for the latest schedule and any weather updates. If you would rather just ask, email admin@louisianahuskyrescue.com and we will confirm when the next social is happening and answer any questions before you come.
